Your favourite pair of jeans got ripped? Someone got you jeans with holes, but they are not your style? You have old pair of jeans and don't know what to do with them? Well this is a post for you. This quick and easy project will show you how to recycle them into a stylish new skirt.
*You will need :
-An old pair of jeans.
-Sturdy thread (Denim is a heavy material, and upholstery thread or embroidery thread works well.)
-A needle or sewing machine.
-Sewing pins.
-Scissors.
-A seam ripper.
*Directions:
1. First off lay your jeans down on flat surface and cut of legs at desired lenght. But remember to cut atleast 1/4 of an inch longer than desired lenght to have room for the seam.
2.Flip the pants inside out, and use a seam ripper to rip out the inseam.
3. Rip the front seam all the way up to the zipper. Then, repeat with the back seam, going up the same distance. Your pants should now lay flat and be completely open beneath the zipper.
4. Flip the pants right side out again, and use fabric from the leftover pants legs to fill in the wedge-shaped void at the center of the skirt, both front and back. Pin in place.You and also use any kind of fabric that you like, or have available if you don't like how the current fabric is looking.
5.Now, stitch the center fabric in place. Use a contrasting color thread if you want your stitches to show.
6. Hem the bottom of the skirt, and your new and trendy skirt is ready to be worn.
